DuoSplit™ 4-in-1 Portable Air Conditioner

A true split: the compressor lives outside — no drilling, no building work, no permission needed

Description

You've bought a portable air conditioner before. It was loud, you had to empty the tank, and hot air came straight back in through the badly sealed window. It's in the cellar now. The DuoSplit™ is not a portable air conditioner. It's a genuine two-block split system: the compressor lives outside, not in your bedroom. Everything else follows from that.

Why choose the DuoSplit™?

Because the noise, the heat and the water all stay outside — and you don't need anyone's permission to install it.

  • 🌙 39 dB in Silent mode: with the compressor outside, all that's left in the room is the sound of moving air. You can finally sleep with the window shut.
  • 🚫 No drilling, no building work: window sealing kit included, standard mains plug. Installed in minutes, uninstalled just as fast. Renting or in a managed block: nobody to convince.
  • 💧 No tank to empty: condensate drains away through the line to the outdoor unit. Nothing to keep an eye on, no risk of overflow.
  • 🌀 No hot air pushed back into the room: unlike a single-hose unit, the DuoSplit™ doesn't draw your indoor air out to dump it outside. No negative pressure, so no hot air creeping in through doors and seals.
  • 🔥 It heats, too: reversible heat pump. One appliance for summer and for the shoulder seasons, not an object that sleeps in a cupboard eleven months a year.
  • 📱 Control it from anywhere: app, Wi-Fi, remote control, works with Alexa and Google Home. Start it before you get home and the room is already cool.

  • Outdoor unit: 43.8 × 50 × 26 cm, under 6 kg
  • Connecting line: 2 m, insulated, 6 cm wide
  • Included: complete window sealing kit, mounting bracket, remote control, security cable, protection plate, condensate hose

Our installation tips

  • Set the outdoor unit on a window ledge, a balcony or a terrace: it weighs under 6 kg and one person can handle it.
  • If your window is reachable from outside (ground floor, shared balcony), use the security cable supplied and bring the outdoor unit in when you're away for a long stretch — most home insurance policies require it.
  • Double-casement window: add a strip of sealing foam on the second leaf for a perfect seal.
  • To cool down faster, close the shutters or curtains on the sunny side for the first hour.

Maintenance: clean the indoor unit's filter in lukewarm water every two to three weeks during peak season. That's all the appliance asks of you.

“Can my landlord or the building management say no?”

There is nothing to refuse: no drilling, no permanent fixings, no changes to the outside of the building. The outdoor unit sits on a window ledge, a balcony or a terrace, and the connecting line runs through the sealing kit supplied. It comes down as quickly as it goes up — you can take the whole thing away in minutes before a check-out inspection. That is precisely why the DuoSplit™ exists: to get a proper split system when you are not allowed to have one fitted.

“Does it work on a tilt-and-turn window?”

Yes. The sealing kit supplied fits the most common window types, tilt-and-turn and sliding included. The connecting line is only 6 cm wide: it passes through the opening without forcing and without damaging the seal. On a double-casement window, add the foam strip to the second leaf to close off the airflow completely.

“I live on an upper floor — where do I put the outdoor unit?”

On a ledge, a balcony or a terrace: it measures 43.8 × 50 × 26 cm and weighs under 6 kg, so you can position it on your own. The security cable and protection plate are included in the box — you strap it to the railing in two minutes and it can neither slip nor be lifted off. If you are away for a few days, it comes back in as easily as it went out.

“39 dB — is that really quiet?”

39 dB is the level of a quiet room at night, well below a whispered conversation. The reason is simple: the compressor — the noisy part of any air conditioner — is outside. All that is left in the bedroom is the sound of air moving over the indoor unit. That is the whole difference with a portable monobloc, which puts the motor at the foot of your bed.

“How much does it use?”

Around €0.50 a day for 10 hours of use, measured at 1.37 kWh over 6 hours. The DuoSplit™ is rated SEER 20, A++ for cooling, and uses R32 refrigerant. The exact figure depends on your insulation, the floor area you are cooling and your electricity tariff — but the order of magnitude is that of a powerful fan, not a heater.

Shipping

Orders are picked within 1 to 2 working days, then dispatched. Both units, the insulated connecting line and the complete window sealing kit travel in a single parcel. A tracking link is emailed to you as soon as it ships.

Returns & exchanges

30 days to change your mind. The unit must come back complete and in its original packaging — keep the box while you put it through its paces. Get in touch before sending anything back and we’ll talk you through it.

Warranty

Fiabelo warranty: if you find a manufacturing fault on arrival, contact us within 30 days — exchange or refund depending on the case. The refrigerant circuit is sealed at the factory and needs no re-gassing and no engineer.

As seen in

DuoSplit : la puissance d'un split, jusqu'à 45 m²

The compressor lives outside. Everything else follows from that.

A monobloc puts the compressor in your bedroom, draws in your indoor air to blow it outside, and creates negative pressure that pulls hot air back in through seals and doors. The DuoSplit™ is a true two-unit split: 12,000 BTU, 3.5 kW, up to 45 m² — and the noise, the heat and the water stay outside.

No drilling. Nobody to convince.

The sealing kit is included, it plugs into a normal socket, and nothing is permanently fixed to the building. Renting, in a managed block, tilt-and-turn or sliding window: fitting takes a few minutes and removing it takes just as long. The outdoor unit measures 43.8 × 50 × 26 cm and weighs under 6 kg — you can put it on a ledge, a balcony or a terrace on your own.

39 dB, with the window shut

With the compressor outside, all that is left in the room is the sound of air: 39 dB in Silent mode, the level of a quiet room at night. There is no tank to empty either — condensate runs out through the line to the outdoor unit. And in the shoulder seasons the reversible heat pump warms the room, so the unit doesn’t sit in a cupboard for eleven months of the year.

Renting on the 4th floor, not allowed to fit air conditioning. I had given up. The outdoor unit sits on the balcony, nothing is drilled, and my bedroom is 22°C at night.

  • Sophie M. 2 weeks ago

I had a monobloc for two summers: the noise was unbearable and I spent my time emptying the tank. Here there is neither. The difference is enormous.

  • Julien R. 2 weeks ago

39 dB is fair. You hear the airflow, not the motor. I sleep right next to it with no problem, which was impossible before.

  • Marie F. 3 weeks ago

Fitted it myself in 25 minutes on a tilt-and-turn window. The kit adapts well, I just added a bit of foam to the second leaf as instructed.

  • Thomas L. 3 weeks ago

38 m² living room, and it copes easily. Down from 31 to 24°C in an hour and a half. It isn’t instant, but it is steady.

  • Aurélie B. 1 month ago

The heating mode is a genuinely nice surprise. In October I don’t switch the central heating on just for one room.

  • Nicolas P. 1 month ago

Let’s be clear: you need an accessible window and a ledge, a balcony or a terrace. With no outside support it won’t work. It was perfect at my place, but check before ordering.

  • Émilie C. 2 months ago

My bill hasn’t gone through the roof. About 50 cents a day as stated — I checked it on my meter.

  • Laurent G. 5 days ago

The security cable and the plate were in the box as promised. Unit strapped to the railing, and it doesn’t move a millimetre.

  • Manon D. 4 days ago

The app works well: I start it from the office and the flat is cool when I get in. Works with Google Home at my place.

  • Sarah B. 10 days ago

The castors are handy, I move it from the living room to the bedroom. The 2 m line limits how far it goes — you need to pick your window carefully to start with.

  • Yanis T. 6 weeks ago

Loft office, 33°C during the day. It holds the room at 25 without straining. Working from home is bearable again.

  • Céline V. 2 weeks ago

Three children, and we put it in the shared bedroom. Nobody wakes up because of the noise, which was what I feared most.

  • Pauline R. 3 weeks ago

The dehumidify-only mode is very effective on muggy days. I use it almost as much for that as for the cooling.

  • Hugo B. 12 days ago

Delivered in 48 hours, well packed, everything there. Assembly takes a bit of method but the instructions are clear.

  • Inès K. 3 days ago

I’m taking off one star for the indoor unit: at 64 cm tall, you push it rather than carry it. Otherwise it does exactly what is promised.
