Natural Soothing Balm for Neck and Shoulders

You know the spot to the millimetre: between the shoulder and the base of the neck, on the right more often than not, that hard knot that comes back every evening. You press on it in front of the television, you ask someone to knead it for two minutes, it is back the next day. This balm doesn’t replace a pair of hands: it makes them effective. It glides, it warms, and it gives you a reason to massage for five minutes instead of thirty seconds.

A texture made for massage

The balm is solid in its tin and melts on contact with the skin. Take a pea-sized amount and warm it between two fingers: it becomes fluid enough to glide without dragging at the skin, and stays rich enough not to vanish in ten seconds the way a cream does.

• Plant extracts: a clean, fresh, herbal scent, a long way from the smell of a sports club changing room.
• It doesn’t run: nothing trickling down your collar or staining the top of your T-shirt.
• Metal tin: it lives in a desk drawer or a gym bag with no risk of leaking.
• It works elsewhere too: the nape of the neck, the upper back, calves after a long walk.

How to apply it

On clean, dry skin, working up from the shoulder towards the neck, with slow presses rather than rubbing. In the evening after a hot shower is when the muscle is most willing.

External use. Avoid the eye area, mucous membranes and broken skin. Patch test on the crook of your elbow if your skin is sensitive.
