Description

Frameless · Absolute comfort

Cocon Sofa — the low seat that wraps around you

No wooden frame. No legs. No metal structure. The Cocon is built entirely from foam — and that is exactly what gives it the low, enveloping seat nothing else quite reproduces.

🛋️ Why nobody gets back up

Most sofas hold you up. This one takes you in. The seat sits 38 cm off the floor and the quilted folds, sewn one by one, follow your back instead of fighting it — this is a position for relaxing, not for sitting up.

✨ Key features

  • Built from 100% multi-density polyurethane foam, with no wood or metal.
  • Horizontal quilted folds, hand-sewn one by one.
  • Low seat at 38 cm — the lounge position this model is known for.
  • Soft brushed fabric cover, built for everyday use.
  • Non-slip base, designed for sofas that sit directly on the floor.
  • No assembly: you put it down, and that's it.
  • Perfect for the living room, the bedroom, the study or a reading corner.

📏 Three sizes

All share the same 102 cm depth, the same 70 cm height and the same 38 cm seat height. Only the width changes.

✅ Guaranteed quality

🎯 The perfect choice for anyone who wants a statement piece, comfort that doesn't cut corners and a silhouette you'd recognise anywhere.

Which size should I choose?

All three sizes share the same depth and the same height — only the width changes. Measure your wall before ordering.

  • 1-seater — 87 cm wide. Bedroom, study, reading corner, or alongside a 3-seater.
  • 2-seater — 131 cm. Studio flats and living rooms up to 20 m². The most popular size.
  • 3-seater — 174 cm. Main living room: three adults sitting, or one person lying full length.

On all three sizes: 102 cm deep, 70 cm high, seat 38 cm off the floor. It is a deliberately low seat — the lounge position that is the model’s signature. If you want a high sofa you can get out of in one push, this isn’t the one.

Delivered compressed: what you receive

A 174 cm sofa won’t go up a narrow Victorian stairwell. The Cocon is vacuum-compressed at the factory, which cuts its volume to roughly a third: you receive a compact parcel that fits through standard doorways, hallways and lifts. Unpack it straight into the room it is going in.

Allow 24 to 72 hours for the foam to decompress and the sofa to reach its final volume. It arrives with compression creases in the fabric: they disappear as the foam regains its shape. Nothing to screw in, no tools, no legs to fit — you cut the film, put it in place, and wait.

In the parcel: the foam blocks and their cover. No scatter cushions are included — the ones in the photos are there for styling.

Does it sag over time?

The Cocon has no wooden frame and no metal structure: it is built entirely from polyurethane foam. That is what makes it so comfortable — and it is also the question we are asked most often. The answer is in how it is stacked:

  • High-density foam in the seat — the zone that takes all your weight. It springs back instead of holding the imprint.
  • Softer foams in the back and wings — so your back is cradled rather than pushed away.

The quilted folds aren’t decorative: they are stitched through the layers and stop the foam shifting inside the cover. The Fiabelo warranty covers the foam and the frame for 2 years.

The fabric: care, children and pets

The Cocon is covered in a soft brushed fabric, matt, that doesn’t shine under the light. Beyond the feel, this texture hides everyday marks far better than velvet or plain linen — no plasticky look, no synthetic sheen where people always sit.

Care: vacuum with a soft brush for everyday upkeep, barely-damp microfibre cloth on marks, without rubbing. No steam cleaning.

The sofa sits directly on the floor: vacuum around it regularly, as the base doesn’t lift like a sofa on legs. Indoor use only.

Shipping

Orders are picked within 1 to 2 working days, then dispatched. The sofa travels vacuum-compressed: the parcel fits through standard doorways, hallways and lifts, and is manageable with two people. A tracking link is emailed to you the moment it leaves the warehouse.

Returns & exchanges

30 days to change your mind. The sofa must be in its original condition, free of marks and odours. As it can’t be re-compressed at home, get in touch before sending anything back: we’ll arrange collection and talk you through it.

Warranty

2-year Fiabelo warranty on the frame and the foam. If the sofa hasn’t regained its full volume after 72 hours, or you spot a manufacturing fault on arrival, write to us within 30 days — exchange or refund depending on the case.

No wood, no metal — just foam

Most sofas are built around a wooden or metal frame, and it is that frame you end up feeling through the cover. The Cocon has none: it is made of polyurethane foam blocks of different densities, stacked and then stitched one by one. Nothing rigid inside — which is exactly what gives you a seat that yields where it should and supports you everywhere else.

Three sizes, one depth

87, 131 or 174 cm wide depending on the space you have. The depth doesn’t change: 102 cm on all three sizes, with a seat 38 cm off the floor — the low, laid-back position that makes all the difference. The 2-seater is the most popular size: it fits a studio flat just as well as a 20 m² living room.

Delivered compressed — and that’s good news

A 174 cm sofa won’t go up a narrow Victorian stairwell. The Cocon travels vacuum-compressed: a parcel cut to roughly a third of the volume, which fits through standard doorways, hallways and lifts. You unpack it in the room it is going in and cut the film — the foam does the rest in 24 to 72 hours.

I had been after this pleated sofa for months, but at over €3,000 from the designer it was a no. This one has exactly the same effect in my living room. Everyone asks me where I found it.

  • Julien M. 3 weeks ago

The bit that worried me: getting it up to the 4th floor with no lift. The compressed parcel is easy enough to carry with two people. Unpacked in the living room, fully expanded in two days. Problem solved.

  • Sophie L. 2 weeks ago

The seat is firm without being hard — you don’t sink to the floor like on cheap sofas. After three months of daily use, there is no dip where I always sit.

  • Thomas B. 1 month ago

Took the 3-seater in ecru. At 174 cm I can lie out fully to watch a match. Measure your wall carefully first, it takes up space.

  • Marine D. 2 months ago

Very happy with the sofa, genuinely comfortable and good-looking. I am taking off one star because it took almost 4 days to regain its full shape, when I had been told 48 hours. You just had to be patient.

  • Hugo P. 3 weeks ago

The brushed fabric is the nice surprise. It is soft, matt, and doesn’t look cheap at all. And with two cats, claw marks don’t show in the folds.

  • Léa F. 1 week ago

Ordered in terracotta. The colour is true to the photos, maybe a shade warmer in real life, which suits me perfectly.

  • Nicolas A. 2 months ago

No assembly — that is what sold me. I cut the film, unroll it, wait. Not one screw, not one instruction sheet.

  • Chloé M. 5 days ago

The 2-seater is exactly the size stated, 131 cm. In my 22 m² studio it fills the living area without overwhelming it. Good compromise.

  • Antoine R. 1 month ago

The seat is very low, 38 cm. That is exactly what I wanted for reading and watching a film, but my parents found it awkward to get up from. Worth knowing before you order.

  • Inès K. 3 weeks ago

Lovely sofa, very comfortable. One small niggle: straight out of the box there were quite pronounced compression creases in the fabric. They went after a week, but at the time it gave me a fright.

  • Maxime T. 2 weeks ago

Second order. I bought the 3-seater six months ago and added the matching 1-seater armchair. Same fabric, exactly the same shade.

  • Sarah B. 1 month ago

102 cm deep is huge. I sit cross-legged with my laptop, or lie across it to read. It has become my desk.

  • Pierre-Yves L. 6 weeks ago

Delivered in 3 days, tracking fine, parcel intact. Nothing to fault on the logistics.

  • Amandine C. 2 months ago

Cleaning is easy: a run over with the soft brush attachment once a week and it stays immaculate. I spilled coffee on it and it came off with a damp cloth.

  • Karim S. 4 days ago

The black is genuinely deep, not dark grey. In a light living room it contrasts exactly as I wanted.
